Jeff Palmquist

It is an immense honor and privilege to serve our community as your superintendent. Our vision that Oakley Union Elementary School District be a diverse learning community committed to educating and empowering today’s learners and tomorrow’s leaders in a safe and inclusive environment is something I embrace to my core. Every student deserves a physically and emotionally safe school filled with caring adults to support them as they learn and grow. 

Helen Keller’s words, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much”, resonate as we work together to address unprecedented challenges. When we come together in the spirit of collaboration and as partners in EVERY student’s success, we can accomplish anything. I know the future of our district is bright because we will remain committed and focused on serving our students. Thank you for your commitment to our students, our community, and our district!

Superintendent's Bio

Jeff is starting his 25th year as an educator. He entered education as a teacher at San Joaquin County Court and Community Schools in 1997. In 1998, he joined Lodi Unified School District where he remained a teacher and site administrator until he joined Aspire Public Schools as an administrator in 2012. In 2016, Jeff was appointed an Associate Superintendent for Aspire’s Central Valley region of fourteen schools. In 2018, he returned to Lodi Unified as an Assistant Superintendent overseeing sixteen schools, Child Welfare and Attendance, and School Culture & Climate.

He was a founding teacher of Lodi High School’s APPLE Academy (a California Partnership Academy preparing high school students for careers in Education). With the APPLE Academy, he was a recipient of the California School Board Association’s Golden Bell Award.  He has co-authored and directed state and federal grants for Smaller Learning Communities and California Partnership Academy mentoring.

Jeff holds an A.A. degree from San Joaquin Delta College, a B.A. degree in English from the University of California at Santa Barbara and a M.S. in Education from National University. He is currently working on his Ed.D. in Education Administration at the University of Wyoming.

He is married to his high school sweetheart, Leah, and they have four children. He is involved in various community activities including: municipal boards, community service organizations, and the Chamber of Commerce. He is a distance runner and a fitness enthusiast.
