📢 Interested in Becoming a Volunteer for Oakley Union Elementary School District? This Post is for YOU! 📢
We are thrilled to welcome new volunteers to our schools! If you're interested in volunteering, here's some helpful information:
Link to volunteer forms: https://www.ouesd.k12.ca.us/page/school-and-classroom-volunteers
(Volunteer application packets may also be picked up at any school site or district office)
Complete and Submit the Following:
1. Volunteer Application
2. Code of Conduct Form
3. Photocopy of Driver's License or ID Card (We can make a copy at the District Office if needed)
4. DOJ/FBI Fingerprint Clearance (No cost for volunteers when using the OUESD District Office by appointment only. If you print elsewhere, we are unable to reimburse you.)
5. Submit all completed documents via email to volunteers@ouesd.k12.ca.us or drop them off at the District Office.
🎉 What's Next? Once we review all documents and your fingerprints are cleared by both the DOJ and FBI, you'll receive a volunteer badge with your name. Badges can be picked up at the school site when ready.
FAQs:
• "Do I have to fingerprint and submit a new application every start of the school year?"
-No! Once you are approved as an OUESD volunteer, your clearance remains valid until you choose to opt out or if there is an issue with your fingerprint record that disqualifies you as a volunteer. There’s no need to repeat the process annually.
•"I have already fingerprinted for another district or another agency (i.e., another district, a police officer, nurse, etc.), do I have to fingerprint again?"
-YES! Whenever a company, district, agency, etc., asks you to fingerprint for them, the fingerprint results and notifications are ONLY being given to that agency. The information cannot be shared with OUESD. We thank you for completing the fingerprint portion of the process for the safety & consistency of our students and families!
•"My fingerprints are delayed, can I still volunteer without the results?"
-Unfortunately, no. Delays can happen at random and can take hours to months at a time. The Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) must send the results in order for us to process your application accurately. This is why we strongly recommend you fingerprint as soon as possible to avoid any disturbances in your volunteer plans.
Thank you for your interest in supporting our students and community! 🌟

Lauren Gilmore is O'Hara Park Middle School's 2023-2024 Local 1 Site Employee of the Year!
"I am excited to earn this award as this is only my second year with the district. However, I was born and raised here in Oakley, and love the small town vibe. I currently am the Attendance Clerk at O’Hara Park Middle School, where I once attended school! Each day I am delighted that I get to work alongside some great people and teachers who, back in the day, were once my teachers! Every day is exciting and everchanging. But the thing that remains constant is the atmosphere in which I get to spend my days. Being back at OPS in this new capacity has allowed me to be part of the OPS family and provide a welcoming environment for students and parents alike. Middle School is such a special age group and I enjoy it so much! I look forward to many years to come here at O’Hara Park!" -Lauren
