Oakley Elementary School RAINY DAY SCHEDULE 2025 – 2026 Parents: Follow these rainy day procedures, as these will make drop off and pick up go smoother. Send children to school with an umbrella or rain coat with a hood. For drop off, we ask our parents in the car line to stay inside the car with your child until you get to the basketball court gate and a staff member comes to get your child. Do not double park in front of the school when dropping off, and please keep daycare and bus zones clear. Display the student name placard visibly on the dashboard. Sometimes there are unexpected situations that come up when it is raining. We ask for your understanding and patience as we work through these. DROP OFF: TK and Kinder- students will be dropped off at their classrooms starting at 8:20 am when teachers go on duty. All students who eat breakfast at school- the cafeteria opens at 7:55 am, students may go to the cafeteria to eat. These students will be dismissed from the cafeteria at 8:30am. TK-1st grade students will be escorted to their classrooms by campus supervisor. These students will have their own eating area, as there will be other students in the cafeteria. 1st – 3rd students will be dropped off at the tent area starting at 8:15am (when supervisors start their duty) and will walk into the quad area and head to the cafeteria, where they will wait to be picked up by their teachers. 4th – 5th students will be dropped off at the tent area starting at 8:15am (when supervisors start their duty) and will walk into the quad area, where they will wait to be picked up by their teachers. In case of severe weather ALL students will report to the cafeteria PICK UP: Teachers will walk their students to the quad. Students will be supervised by teachers on duty, admin and/or another staff member(s) Students will be dismissed through the tents and into their cars Teachers and staff on duty will utilize bullhorns/radios to call students Parents will drive up to the tent area (same as drop off) where we will deliver their kids. Good day! Did you know Oakley Elementary is in the process of applying for a grant to become a community school? And, if we are awarded the grant, we may be able to expand and extend services to not our only students, but various members of their household such as their siblings, parents or any other household member! Importantly, part of being a community school is knowing what our community wants and needs. And this is why we want to hear from YOU! Whether you are a sibling, parent, guardian, caregiver, aunt/uncle, or other family member we would love to know how we could support you if awarded the grant. As such, the purpose of this survey is to identify the most important areas of growth/need in the community as well as identify the assets that are already present within the community that can address those needs. And, as an added bonus, every family member who completes the survey will earn their student 20 PAWS for the student store. To make sure your student gets their PAWS please be sure to write their name(s) on the survey. With that said, please know you can also submit the feedback anonymously if you would like. Simply write NA or a similar message to disengage the required prompt. Please be advised, if you need help filing out the survey you can call or stop by the office. Thank you for providing input so we can make Oakley Elementary the best school for its students. https://forms.gle/NpGtsfbjFHK64Yb7A (English) https://forms.gle/nNeuRUh7s6emz6rC8 ( Spanish). Dear Oakley Families, A few reminders: We will begin locking the front door beginning on Monday, August 26th at 8:40am In order to gain entrance after this time, ring the buzzer located to the right of the front door. This will complete the process of becoming a fully closed campus. We appreciate your cooperation and patience. I will also remind our families that only parents of preschool, TK and kinder students have access to school and will wear the appropriate lanyard. All other parents MUST come to the office and get a pass to gain access. We will host the first ELAC meeting of the year on Thursday, August 22 at 8:30am in Room 43. This is meeting for parents of students considered English Learners. We have recently seen an increase of COVID-19 cases in both students and staff. Please continue monitoring the children for symptoms such as fever, diarrhea and vomiting. If your child has any of these symptoms, please keep home and contact the school. The current guidance is that students exhibiting the aforementioned symptoms must stay home and return once they have improved symptoms and free of fever, diarrhea or vomiting for a period of 24 hours. We have plenty of COVID-19 tests if you would like to have some. If you have any questions about this, please call the office at (925) 625-7050

Dear Oakley Parents, We had a successful first day of school. The kids were happy to be back, and the enthusiasm was palpable. Thank you so much for your cooperation. A few items to keep in mind: 1. Only parents of students in grades preschool – kinder can access campus to drop off and pick up. Parents of students in these grades will receive a lanyard for easy identification. We do ask that parents visibly wear these lanyards. 4. Parents of students in special education classes will also receive a lanyard to access the campus.
