Dear Oakley Families, A few reminders: We will begin locking the front door beginning on Monday, August 26th at 8:40am In order to gain entrance after this time, ring the buzzer located to the right of the front door. This will complete the process of becoming a fully closed campus. We appreciate your cooperation and patience. I will also remind our families that only parents of preschool, TK and kinder students have access to school and will wear the appropriate lanyard. All other parents MUST come to the office and get a pass to gain access. We will host the first ELAC meeting of the year on Thursday, August 22 at 8:30am in Room 43. This is meeting for parents of students considered English Learners. We have recently seen an increase of COVID-19 cases in both students and staff. Please continue monitoring the children for symptoms such as fever, diarrhea and vomiting. If your child has any of these symptoms, please keep home and contact the school. The current guidance is that students exhibiting the aforementioned symptoms must stay home and return once they have improved symptoms and free of fever, diarrhea or vomiting for a period of 24 hours. We have plenty of COVID-19 tests if you would like to have some. If you have any questions about this, please call the office at (925) 625-7050

Dear Oakley Parents, We had a successful first day of school. The kids were happy to be back, and the enthusiasm was palpable. Thank you so much for your cooperation. A few items to keep in mind: 1. Reminder that tomorrow Wednesday is a minimum day and kids get out early. TK – 12:15pm Kinder – 12:35pm 1st – 3rd - 12:40pm 4th – 5th - 12:45pm 2. Reminder that parents of students in grades 1st – 5th need to drop off kids at the gate and cannot come onto campus. To access campus and visit classrooms, parents MUST go to the office, sign in and then be escorted to the classroom or another part of the school. 3. Only parents of students in grades preschool – kinder can access campus to drop off and pick up. Parents of students in these grades will receive a lanyard for easy identification. We do ask that parents visibly wear these lanyards. 4. Parents of students in special education classes will also receive a lanyard to access the campus. Keep in mind that closed campuses are much safer than open ones. 5. For our parent drivers, please follow traffic laws and do not double park, park on yellow zones or blue spaces. 6. Meeting for volunteers will take place on Monday, August 5th at 9am in the cafeteria. After this meeting, volunteers will be able to create work schedule with the teachers. Thank you again for a successful first day of school!
