Principal's Message 2025-2026

Welcome to Oakley Elementary School!
Since opening its doors in 1940, Oakley has stood as a cornerstone of learning and community. The original school building, built in 1939 under President Roosevelt’s Work Projects Administration, symbolizes our long tradition of resilience, growth, and dedication to children.
Today, Oakley Elementary proudly serves 382 students from preschool through fifth grade. Our school is home to 24 talented classroom teachers, a caring school counselor, and a dedicated team of special education professionals who ensure that every child is supported in reaching their fullest potential. Our campus features 37 classrooms and offices, a vibrant library, one sensory room, a de-escalation room, a multipurpose room, and a specialized wing for Special Education. In addition, our two large sports fields provide space for play, teamwork, and physical development.
At Oakley, academic excellence is at the heart of what we do. Our comprehensive instructional program is anchored in the Common Core State Standards and enriched through engaging instruction in science, social studies, art, and music. Beyond the classroom, students can explore their passions and leadership skills through extracurricular opportunities such as Leadership Team, Tiger Theater, and Green Team.
The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our top priority. We maintain a secure, closed campus, supported by a network of security cameras, monthly safety drills, work with the Oakley Police Department and a continually updated safety plan developed with staff, parents, and community partners.
Equally important is our strong partnership with families. Parents and guardians are valued collaborators in the education of our children. We invite and encourage participation through classroom visits, volunteering, PTA membership, field trips, and events such as Family Day, the Winter Program, Tiger Theater, Green Team initiatives, and the Health & Safety Fair. Together, we build a vibrant school community that reflects our shared values of respect, curiosity, and care.
At Oakley Elementary, our mission is simple yet powerful: to inspire every child to learn, grow, and dream of a bright future. We are proud of our history, committed to excellence in the present, and excited for the promise of tomorrow.
