of Provisional Appointment 

(Education Code §5092)

The Board of Trustees of the Oakley Union Elementary School District announces that the resignation of Trustee Laurence Polk from the District’s Board of Education effective on January 4, 2021 created one vacant position on the District’s Board of Trustees.

The Board of Trustees voted at a Regular Meeting held on January 20, 2021 to engage in the process necessary to make a provisional appointment.  At a Special Board Meeting on March 3, 2021, the Interim Board of Trustees voted to appoint Lynell Fuller to fill this vacancy.  Unless a petition calling for a special election, containing a sufficient number of signatures, is filed in the Office of the Contra County Superintendent of Schools within 30 days of the date of the provisional appointment, it shall become an effective appointment.

OUESD Interim Board of Trustees Appoints
Lynell Fuller as Area 2 Trustee

In a Special Board Meeting convened on March 3, 2021, the Oakley Union Elementary School District Interim Board of Trustees selected Lynell Fuller as its provisional appointee for Area 2 Trustee. Mrs. Fuller replaces former Trustee Laurence (Larry) Polk, who resigned from the Board of Trustees on January 4, 2021.  Mrs. Fuller was sworn in by Board Secretary, Superintendent Hetrick, at the special board meeting on March 3, 2021

Public Comments must be submitted electronically, via email to Kedwards@ouesd.k12.ca.us no later than one hour prior to the start of the Board Meeting.

The email subject line should state “Public Comment," and the Agenda Item being addressed, if applicable. All such comments that are within the District’s jurisdiction will be read aloud at the meeting up to a three-minute limit (BB 9323), or approximately 450 words, per individual.  Any public comments received will be posted online for public inspection within one (1) day of the meeting, and later summarized in the minutes.

Note: public comments are part of the official record so personal contact information (potentially email addresses) may be published if it is included with the e-mail.

The OUESD Board of Trustees meets on the third Wednesday of each month* at the Library at O’Hara Park Middle School located at 1100 O’Hara Avenue.  Board Meetings usually begin at 6:00 p.m. but please call the District Office at 625-5050 to confirm.  Study Sessions are held on the first Wednesday of the month at the District Office located at 91 Mercedes Lane. 

The Board of Trustees encourages input from all members of the Oakley Union Elementary School District Community.  The Board of Trustees meetings are open to the public and all are welcome to comment under the Public Comment section.  Comment cards are available near the sign in sheet at every meeting.

Individuals who require special accommodation (American Sign Language interpreter, reader, assistive listening device, note taker, taped text, Braille or large print materials, accessible seating, etc.) should contact the Superintendent’s office at least five (5) business days prior to the meeting at 925-625-5050.

*This schedule can change if the third Wednesday of the month falls on a Holiday or during a school break. 

**With the exception of large agenda items noted as large on the agenda.  Hard copies of those exhibits are available for review at the District Office and the O'Hara Park Middle School Library.
